Sunday School

Our Sunday School is designed for children in Kindergarten through 5th grade. Children are dismissed from the worship service during the offering. They meet in the Narthex and go downstairs to participate in a variety of workshops that change each week. Following the 35 minute workshop children rejoin their families in the Fellowship Hall.

We use a workshop rotation model.  In the rotation model, children study the same Bible story or concept for several weeks. The workshops may focus on art, music, drama, science, cooking, games, storytelling, spiritual practices, etc.  The repetition of the story, concept or theme for an extended period allows the children the time to really absorb the material and to reflect on its meaning for them.  In addition, children who miss a week or two don't miss out on the entire lesson.

Polar Express

Every year we kick off Advent with a screening of the movie "Polar Express."  The movie begins at 6:00pm in the Fellowship Hall and children are encouraged to come in their pajamas.  Popcorn and hot cocoa are served, the Conductor is there to invite everyone aboard, Santa Claus puts in an appearance, and everyone goes home with a bag of treats!  The event is free and open to the public.

Summer Camp

Every summer the Presbytery sponsors a week long residence camp at Ponderosa Camp in Monument for children who have completed 3rd through 8th grade.  This week of camp is a great way for children to deepen their faith, build confidence and independence, and make life long memories.  Camp registration opens March 1 every year.
